Discover two traditional crafts in the state of Oaxaca on the Quesillo and Papel Tour. You’ll visit San Agustin Etla, a picturesque town located about 12 miles north of the Oaxacan capital. The guide will lead you into an old hydroelectric plant, where there is currently a cooperative factory dedicated to the production of paper with natural fibers. In this workshop, you’ll see how paper is made by hand using tree barks, branches, cotton, flowers and regional pigments. They also have a small shop that sells notebooks, crafts, ornaments, etc.

Next stop is the Arts Center of San Agustin, an old building dating back to the late 19th century, famous for its impressive architecture and iconic facade. Housed in what was once a cotton yarn and textile factory, the building now exhibits contemporary art exhibits. Last, this cultural tour in Oaxaca takes you to a cheese factory where the famous "quesillo" is made. It is a traditional cheese whose texture and flavor are unique. You’ll see the careful process that goes into creating this handmade cheese when you visit the house of one of the families that produce it.
