Discover the beauty and history of Mexico during your next visit to Oaxaca. The Mitla Monte Alban Tour takes you to a grand 2,000 year old cypress tree and two archeological sites, including one that is known as the “City of the Dead”.

The “Arbol del Tule” is located in Santa Maria del Tule. This ancient and extraordinary tree is 45 feet in diameter and is the widest tree in the world. After seeing this natural wonder, you’ll travel to the Mitla archeological site. The walls in the “City of the Dead” are decorated with geometric carvings that are unique to this particular site.

The tour continues on to a town that was founded by the Zapotec, a pre-Columbian indigenous tribe. Known for producing beautiful textiles, Teotitlan del Valle is a great place to purchase a distinctive keepsake of your journey.

This day long excursion ends with a trip to the Monte Alban archaeological site. This ruin site is located on a mountain range and features old tombs as well as an observatory and a court for the traditional pre-Hispanic ball game.

With so much to see and enjoy, the Mitla Monte Alban Tour is an experience that cannot be missed!
