  • Overview

Coyoacan is located at the south area of Mexico City, which is a gorgeous district that still keeps a colonial architecture and picturesque landscape where abound houses painted in colorful tonalities as well as a place with an array of coffee stores and enchanting spots for spending an agreeable moment. This city is renowned by its intense cultural life as it features several literary centers, art galleries and the popular Frida Khalo Museum or locally called The Blue House (this museum is closed on Monday).

During this 4-hour trip we’ll visit the San Juan Bautista Church. A stop that is a must if you’re at Coyoacan is the Frida Khalo Museum (closed on Monday) where the famous painter lived with her husband the artist Diego Rivera and of course you’ll have the opportunity for admiring their beautiful and important work of art.

Next you'll head to the south of Mexico City to enjoy the folklore and traditions of Xochimilco. Here you'll navigate the canals on board a brightly colored “traditional trajinera,” that comes decorated with beautiful regional flowers, and usually features a woman's name.
