    On this Camino Real Artesanal Tour we’ll visit several of the picturesque towns located along "El Camino Real" (The Royal Road) in Campeche. This is the route that Maria Carlota Amalia, then Empress of Mexico, took during her trip to the Yucatan in 1865.

    This sightseeing tour in Campeche explores the history, culture and cuisine of the region with visits to the towns of Kanki, Hecelchakan, Pomuch and Becal. These towns are well-known for their traditional Mayan culture and handicrafts, including famous Panama style hats, made from the jipi japa, a common flower in the area. In the town of Becal, they are even wooven inside limestone caves.
