Coachella Festival

Lana del ReyThe Coachella Festival, an event that takes place in the desert city of Indio, California, made its name by introducing relatively fresh and unknown bands to the stage. The 2014 edition will be held during two weekends in April (from the 11th to the 13th, and from the 18th to the 20th) at the Empire Polo Club, and will take you back to a not-so-distant past, featuring hugely successful bands from days gone by that are still capable of drawing large crowds.

MuseThe festival has confirmed that there will be performances from well-known groups, such as Muse and Arcade Fire, as well as popular acts like Pharrell and Ellie Goulding. These impressive performers shouldn't be confused however with the real star: The '90s.

Pet Shop BoysThe biggest surprise is the eagerly awaited reunion of Andre 300 and Big Boi from Outkast after seven years away from the stage. The duo from Atlanta became world-famous after the release of the single "Hey Ya!". The audience will also experience another blast from the past in the form of the song "Praise You" by Fatboy Slim, or the electronic ballads of the Pet Shop Boys, which were without a doubt, "in" when you first set foot on the dance floor.

Queens of the StoneageCoachella 2014 will take you back to the time when being "cool" meant having a chain hanging from your wallet, wearing hipster jeans, and a red bandana. To top it all off, the festival will literally be rocking with the presence of local musicians in the form of the band from nearby Palm Springs, Queens of The Stone Age. Other groups include alternative rock band Afghan Whigs and hardcore band The Dismemberment Plan.

MotorheadThe defining characteristic of Coachella and what differentiates it from other festivals, like Lollapalooza, is its variety of fans and genres. It features everything from the pop of Lana del Rey to heavy metal living legends, such as Motörhead.

With such variety on the lineup, you're guaranteed a great time in the desert this April!
