El Mundo Mágico de Harry Potter

Harry Potter fans now have an attraction dedicated solely to the world of their favorite magician at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando. Anyone who has experienced Orlando knows that "magical" is the one word to perfectly describe a few days spent in this incredible destination, drawing in kids and adults from across the globe. Ever since The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened its doors (with an estimated cost between 235 and 265 million dollars), the city of Orlando has been under the spell of thousands of excited tourists.

El Mundo Mágico de Harry PotterThe park represents the entire saga of Harry Potter, contemporary literature's most famous character, created by writer J.K. Rowling, with more than 400 million books sold worldwide. Eight incredible films have also premiered on the big screen.

El Mundo Mágico de harry PotterCovering an enormous area of 20 acres in Orlando, the park houses the small village of Hogsmeade with the same details as the original set from the movies: charming rooftops covered in snow, chimneys and gables, all created by the movies' art director. To increase the feeling of being right inside the world of Harry Potter, visitors can't see other areas of Universal's Islands of Adventure while within the park.

El Mundo Mágico de Harry PotterThe park has two incredible rollercoasters. The radical Dragon Challenge rollercoaster features a pair of dueling coasters that simulate one of the tasks of the Triwizard Tournament, and kids will love the Flight of the Hippogriff rollercoaster, where your objective is to learn to handle a Hippogriff, the mystical creature that helped Harry Potter's godfather Sirius Black to escape after being unfairly imprisoned in "The Prisoner of Azkaban".

Hogwarts Castle

The perfect replica of Hogwarts Castle is the real show-stopper. Here you'll find Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, considered to be one of the most ambitious theme park projects in recent years. Within the castle, visitors are welcomed by the school's headmaster, Dumbledore, and later joined by Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione. Make yourself comfortable on a "flying bench" as you're chased by a terrifying dragon, and experience the adventure of a Quidditch match right before your eyes.

Food, Drinks and Shopping

Next you can try The Hog's Head Pub, offering a unique beer made exclusively for the park.

However, the village shops are the ones truly worth a visit; spend a memorable afternoon shopping amongst the fascinating store facades that highlight the park's scenic detail.Harry Potter fans will fall in love with Ollivanders Wand Shop, where visitors can see a Harry choose his magic wand. The actor playing the wand salesman chooses a kid from the group to interact with.

Afterwards, he directs visitors to a shop that's a true fan favorite, where you can buy flying broomsticks, wands, uniforms, Quidditch quaffles and even books that bite!
