Nestled at the foothills of this majestic mountain range, Denver offers everything for a fantastic vacation and more!
Due to its location on the high plains and its proximity to the Rockies, Denver has four distinct seasons. Although it's generally dry and mild most of the year, the weather gets cold and it snows in the wintertime. It is necessary to bring heavy clothing when traveling to Denver during this season, especially during March, the month with the heaviest snowfall. However, because of its location, Denver is actually shielded from strong winds by the mountain range, so snow tends to melt very quickly.

In 1865, Denver became the territorial capital and in 1876, Colorado was officially given the title of a state.
