The dishes in Cozumel are influenced by its geographical location as an island, its proximity to the state of Yucatan, and the constant interaction with other cultures from around the world. Restaurants serving fish and seafood are commonly found in the downtown area, at the beach clubs, and along the coastal road on the east side of the island.
