According to Bill No. 281 Senate and No. 403 Chamber of 2020, ""By which the General Tourism Law is modified, the rates reflected on our site are EXEMPT from VAT Tax for reservations with check-in and check-out dates until December 31st, 2021 inclusive for both Colombian and foreign passengers. Those reservations of Colombian Residents that are made between June 18th, 2020 and December 31st, 2021 with stays from January 1st, 2022 must pay the 19% VAT tax directly at the hotel. Similarly, as of January 1st, 2022, and pursuant to the regulations of Decree 297 of 2016 and to the provisions that the National Government indicates, the VAT exemption will continue as follows: “They are exempt from the payment of foreign tax with a visa tourism, Andean Card or Mercosur Card and Colombians residing abroad in both cases who stay less than 90 days in Colombia or present their passport or documents attesting to the PT, PID, POA Entry and Permanence Permit according to the new regulation, those who do not meet these requirements must pay the tax (19%) directly at the hotel, therefore it is essential to present the Passport and the Immigration Proof at the time of check in. ” If due to an error in your reservation they did not specify the Colombian nationality, VAT will be charged directly to the hotel without exception. The rates do not include Hotel Insurance, which will be charged per person, per night directly by the hotel.
