Las Pichanchas
Las Pichanchas is highly recommended by most locals. Dine while you listen to beautiful marimba music, heard as soon as you walk into the restaurant. Experience the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, as you ring the bell on your table to call the waiter over and order your next delicious dish.
Perhaps order a 'pumpo' (the house drink) as an appetizer, while you wait for your meal and hear the waiters shout "The pumpo is ready", "There goes the pumpo", or "The pumpo is here" while the customers ring the bells on their tables. Then at 9:00 p.m. the customers are handed a rattle and a performance of folk dancing begins. As the group of dancers performs the audience makes clattering sounds with their 'chinchines' or rattles.
