Enjoy the fabulous “Voladores de Papantla” (the Flyers of Papantla), a traditional dance where the “flyers”, wearing brightly colored traditional clothing, tie a rope around their waists or ankles and from the top of a tall post, rhythmically descend in slow circles to the ground. The rope that is tied to their bodies is wrapped around the post so they can safely “fly” through the air till they reach the ground.
Later on we'll go to Papantla or “The city that perfumes the world” for taking a stroll around this authentic Mexican village with natives and “mestizos” citizens transmitting its warmth and happiness.
Papantla is popular for being a vanilla producer and for the beautiful handicrafts as well as figures, baskets, fan, hats, sandals and bags made with the vanilla pods. You’ll feel fascinated with the array of parks and markets, a good opportunity for purchasing a souvenir to remember your visit to Papantla.
