This attractive tour is full of culture and an interesting diversion for the whole family. Visit four splendid places during the approximately five hours that the Tour La Antigua y San Juan de Ulua lasts. You'll get to see the historic town of La Antigua, the imposing San Juan de Ulua Fortress, the picturesque Veracruz Port, and the contemporary area of Boca del Rio.
In the morning, our transportation will pick you up at your hotel to start the adventure. The first stop is in the town of La Antigua, a historic place 17 miles from the Port of Veracruz. Here you can experience, first hand, the Spanish colonization of the Americas. Visit the first city hall of New Spain, and also the Casa del Cabildo, the Ermita del Rosario, the old catholic church, and the house of the conquistador Hernan Cortes. Later, explore the San Juan de Ulua Fortress, an iconic structure in Veracruz, with a rich history dating back more than 400 years. This is where "Chucho el Roto", a famous Mexican thief, similar to Robin Hood, was incarcerated.
The tour then continues with a sightseeing trip around the beautiful Port of Veracruz and the modern area of Boca del Rio. In the port area you'll get to see a whole host of interesting places, including the historic center, the seaside promenade and the Fort of Santiago. You'll then move on to Boca del Rio with its traditional Zocalo (Main Square), the Church of Nuestra Senora de Santa Ana from the 16th century, and the city hall.
