Berlin Bistro Bar

Excellent for German fusion food and a cold beer, the Berlin is the best site to start a night in San Miguel. Bar snacks, beer and a lounge atmosphere will get you rolling. Even though the bar closes at midnight, it's worth a visit. The bar owner takes special care to make you feel welcome.

Callejoneadas

This is a spectacle that is very common in the state of Guanajuato, especially in San Miguel de Allende. Every Friday and Saturday, a group of happy-go-lucky students, dressed in period costumes from 17th century Spain, meet in the main plaza, the starting point of this colorful and picturesque tradition. These students form groups called "estudiantinas", which go around the streets doing serenades, singing songs that have some relation to famous local legends. Normally, the "callejoneadas" start at 8:00 p.m. and last approximately an hour and fifteen minutes. If you want to join in, do so. It's the best way to live and learn the culture of this very quaint town.

Chocolate Lounge

This is quite possibly the best place to enjoy live DJs and alternative music. Located in downtown San Miguel, next to the Petit Four, it's great as a finishing touch to a night of partying, with its great atmosphere and live house music.

El Grito

This is a popular club in San Miguel de Allende among the younger crowd, where you can listen to good music and dance and party until the early morning. It has its own cantina called Maria Chuchena, where you can listen to alternative music.

 

 

Harry's New Orleans Cafe & Oyster Bar

This bar/restaurant offers New Orleans-style jazz and exquisite Cajun-Creole style food. Travel down Bourbon and Bienville Streets through the French Quarter, as depicted in the decor. The menu at Harry's includes delicious shrimp cocktails, seafood chowder, oysters and a very well-stocked bar.

La Fragua

This bohemian bar is located in the center of the city. The 30-somethings get together here to share a drink, listen to 70s music and a little disco. La Fragua is famous for its warm service, well-stocked bar and quaint decor.

Leonardo's y Mama's Bar

Inside the Mama Mia Restaurant, there are two sections: Leonardo's and Mama's Bar. Both are perfect for a party atmosphere, with music for all tastes and ages. Leonardo's is a cut above the rest since it offers all sorts of music, such as salsa, rock and funk.

Mechicano's

The most chic club, according to the locals, it has several sections as well as a spectacular bar, terrace, "the room of the saints" and an area decorated in religious motifs. The DJs play the best music and there are also live events. It is located in the Colonial Center.

Motel Beat

Motel Beat offers a different type of place for a night stroll in San Miguel, where you can listen to good music and enjoy a cocktail or two. It is, without a doubt, one of the more preferred clubs of the young locals of San Miguel.

Tapas y Tinis

Tapas y Tinis is a different sort of space for those nostalgic for 70s music and rock 'n' roll. Fridays and Saturdays are when you can enjoy live entertainment as well as 8 oz martinis! It's located in the center of the city.

Z Club

The concept of Z Club is sophistication, with an avant-guard touch, courtesy of Sutka Productions, the same company that has done art direction for Revlon, Gucci and Chanel. The concept is unique, the ambiance is posh and the design is stylish. Expect the unexpected.
