Casa del Virrey is a resort constructed in honor of the man who was the leader of New Spain, Antonio de Mendoza, during the colonial period. The Viceroy ordered the construction of the house in the 16th century. The property is facing the former Convent of Carmen, which is nowadays the city's House of Culture. This hotel has contemporary Mexican decor, and a harmonious balance between the quarry stones and fine Spanish tile floors, characteristics that help make this building such a beautiful place.

Location

The hotel is located few blocks away from the spectacular cathedral of Morelia. The city was founded in 1541 as an attempt to become a force to compete in importance with Patzcuaro and Tzintzuntzan.
