Cozumel Shopping | Where to Shop and What to Buy
Shopping in Cozumel has evolved beyond the typical beach stores. During your tour of the island, you’ll find shops selling everything from traditional crafts to name brand clothing, fine jewelry, and prestigious perfumes. The most precious material for accessories is black coral, which is used to make earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.
Cozumel has three main business areas; along the Malecon in the downtown area, the craft market next to the main plaza, and the cruise terminal to the south.
Jewelry and Perfume
When you visit Cozumel you’ll have the opportunity to shop for fine gold and silver jewelry, gems, and even diamonds. You’ll also find some of the most exquisite fragrances from well-known brands at the perfume shops.
Both jewelers and perfume shops offer incredible Duty Free prices, making them a great place to buy gifts or simply pick up a lovely souvenir to remind you of your stay on this island along the Caribbean coast of Mexico.
Punta Langosta is the largest shopping center in Cozumel, and it’s unique in that it’s built as an open-air market. It has a variety of shops, including name brand boutiques, jewelers, and clothing stores, as well as restaurants serving regional specialties and fast food.
Crafts and Souvenirs
If you’re looking for handmade clothing and other items made by Mexican artists, there are several shops offering a wide variety of these products located around Parque Benito Juarez and along the Malecon. Some items are made of wood and others are made of materials from the sea, such as shells, snails, and starfish. Here you’ll also find clothing and other souvenirs with original prints, including t-shirts, mugs, key chains, pens, and more.
