Temascal Photos

Temazcal is a native prehispanic sauna that uses traditional healing methods to evoke relaxation, introspection, and reflection. Temazcal means "house of the hot stones" in the native Nahuatl language, and was originally used to purify the body after battle. The ceremony begins with a bath in nutrient-rich mud prepared with almond oil, banana, oat, avocado, cocoa and honey. A spiritual guide will cover your body with incense to purify your aura. Then, your body will be purified using beach sand and sea water to eliminate negative energies.
